Vandikaran Chutney / Kara Chutney

Ingredients
- Tomatoes - 3 roughly chopped
- Garlic - small - 20 big - 15
- Tamarind - Small Gooseberry size
- Dry red chilies - 5 ( if you like more spice add more red chilies)
- Chana Dal - 2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Curry Leaves - 1 string
- Mustard - 1 tsp
- Oil - 2 tsp
- In a kadai add oil, once oil heats up add red chilies and fry it with changing it's color and keep it aside.
- Now add chana dal and fry it until golden brown, now add garlic and fry it until raw smell of garlic goes away.
- Now add tomatoes, tamarind and saute until tomatoes become mushy. Switch off the flame and let cool completely.
- Now in the mixer add red chilies and saute items, salt and grind it fine paste.
- In same kadai add some oil and tamper mustard and curry leaves, add to chutney.
- Serve this chutney with Idli, Dosa, Rava Dosa, etc.

- Now add chana dal and fry it until golden brown, now add garlic and fry it until raw smell of garlic goes away.


- Now add tomatoes, tamarind and saute until tomatoes become mushy. Switch off the flame and let cool completely.



- In same kadai add some oil and tamper mustard and curry leaves, add to chutney.
- Serve this chutney with Idli, Dosa, Rava Dosa, etc.
