Okra Mor Kuzhambu

Ingredients
  • Okra (or) Lady's Finger-6 to 7 chopped 1 inch thick pieces
  • Fresh Curd (not sour)  - 1 cup
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
Soak
    • Toor dhal (Thuvaram Paruppu) - 2 tbsp
    • Dhaniya (Coriander Seed) - 2 tbsp
    • Rice - 1 tbsp
    • Jeera - 1 tsp
    Roast
    • Fenugreek (Vendhayam) - 1 tsp
    • Green chilly - 5
    • Dried Red chilly - 3
    • Turmeric powder (Manjal powder) - 1 pinch
    • Grated coconut (Thuruviya thengaai) - 4 tbsp
    Tempering
    • Mustard (Kadugu) - 1 tsp
    • Curry Leaves-1 String
    Method
    • Soak items for half an hour.
    • In a pan add oil, Once heats up add the Roast items and roast for 2min on medium Flame. 
    • In the same pan add little oil ,once oil heats up add the chopped okra and little salt, Saute for 5min.Keep it aside.
    • Once cool down, in a mixer add the roasted items and grind coarsely. Now add the soaked items and add little water to it and grind fine paste.
    • Add required amount of water and mix thoroughly till the consistency is like dosa batter.
    • In a heavy bottom pan add the mixed batter into it and boil it 10min or until thickens.
    • Now add the curd and salt mix it well and bring to 1 boil on low flame.
    • Now add the add the sauteed okra and slightly heats up for a 1min.
    • In another pan add the oil and Tempering items, pour this into the prepared gravy. 
    • Serve hot with rice and pappad.
